The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking a Program Evaluation Analyst based in Yellowknife to guide program evaluations and support strategic planning. The role involves advising management, leading multi-department evaluations, and enhancing program efficiency through expert analysis. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, experience in program evaluation, and a relevant degree or diploma, along with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The Program Evaluation Analyst helps guide how programs are planned, tracked, and assessed, offering expert advice on improving these processes. You will also support the corporation in creating business plans, managing risks, and planning budgets. Sometimes, you will lead or assist in evaluations that involve multiple teams or departments. The main goal of this role is to create and maintain a consistent approach to evaluating programs, planning for the future, and managing risks across the department. You will also work to strengthen these skills and processes throughout the organization.
The Program Evaluation Analyst, who reports to the Director of Policy and Planning, advises senior management at Housing NWT on decisions that impact budgets, staffing, and resources. Based in Yellowknife, you will lead evaluations to assess how well programs are working, suggest improvements or changes, and help ensure programs are efficient and effective.
The Program Evaluation Analyst also create better ways to design, monitor, and report on programs so that results are clear and useful. Their work supports financial and strategic planning, may influence policy or legislation, and can lead to changes in how programs are delivered. Additionally, you help build skills across the organization by creating and leading training activities.
To be successful in this position, you would have completed an undergraduate degree or professional designation in program assessment, program evaluation, public administration or project management, combined with two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Or a Public/ Business Administration diploma or social science diploma combined with four (4) years of direct relevant experience. All other equivalences will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
