Program Coordinator, Physical Security

Corporate Services & Facilities Management (CSFM)

Established in 1929 by an Act of Parliament, it oversees medical education of specialists in Canada.

Reporting to the Team Lead of Corporate Services and Facilities Management, the Program Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Physical Security Program. Responsibilities include policy and procedures development, committee meeting facilitation, training delivery, activity planning, vendor management, operational duties, and program development support. The role requires a minimum of three days on-site (Monday-Friday, core hours), with potential work outside regular hours during emergencies or to backfill evening shifts, and support to the Crisis Management Team, including on-call duties.

Typical day-to-day activities include:

  • Using security software (EBI and DVM) at a superuser level to configure and manage system requirements.
  • Managing access cards, including issuing, activating, and deactivating.
  • Collaborating with the Facilities team to identify and mitigate site risks.
  • Researching, acquiring, and installing security components like card readers and cameras.
  • Training staff and contractors on security principles and raising security awareness through communication.
  • Managing resources to ensure program goals are met.
  • Monitoring compliance with protocols and standards.
  • Serving as a superuser and advisor on security technology components.
  • Reporting on physical security incident investigations.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • College diploma or equivalent in Business Administration, Security, Criminology, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Security Certification.
  • Security Guard license (asset).
  • First Aid Training (asset).
  • Experience with EBI / DVM software (asset).
