POSITION TITLE: Program Coordinator – Pathways to Healing
DEPARTMENT: Pathways to Healing
LOCATION: Vancouver, WA
REPORTS TO: Program Manager – Pathways to Healing
FLSA STATUS: Exempt; Full-Time
WAGE RANGE: $33.40 - $40.10 per hour

Position Summary:

Contributes to the effectiveness of the Pathways to Healing Program by providing education to the community and resource information to those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, trafficking, and stalking. Adheres to confidentiality requirements. Honors and represents the mission, vision, and values of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, HHS Department, and the PTH program.

This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.

  • Develops, plans, and provides educational activities and events for the community related to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, trafficking, and stalking.
  • Creates and delivers presentations to the community, agencies, and other Cowlitz Indian Tribe programs regarding services and education on domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, trafficking, and stalking.
  • Produces publications and printed material for program use and distribution in the community and for survivors of violence.
  • Provides training as requested on culturally appropriate services, domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, trafficking, and stalking; creates HHS training plans for programs and staff of the department.
  • Conducts program surveys, analyzes data; develops reports on program satisfaction and effectiveness.
  • Writes and publishes newsletter articles regarding domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, trafficking, and stalking.
  • Updates, creates, and monitors social media messaging as needed to include, but not limited to, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and Constant Contact; creates Public Service Announcements
  • Works to identify stakeholders and build partnerships with schools, agencies, and other community programs around prevention efforts.
  • Assists in the development of PTH communication strategy.
  • Maintains database, produces monthly reports, and other program reports as needed.
  • Ensures program and staff needs are being met, including but not limited to facilities, information technology, billing, accounting, and human resources; supports new staff through the onboarding process.
  • Tracks, completes, and submits staff timesheets on time.
  • Attends community task force and/or committee meetings as approved by the Program Manager.
  • Assists in organizing and planning outreach and cultural activities, events, and training; represents the program during outreach events and activities.
  • Participates in staff meetings as needed.
  • Adapts to changes in safety protocols and procedures.
  • Contributes to a team effort.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of traditional forms of government and tribal customs and traditions.
  • Knowledge of proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of office functions, procedures, and policies.
  • Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs in a Windows environment, including electronic health care systems.
  • Skill in treating internal and external customers with professional courtesy and respect.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Three years of related experience in community programs.
  • A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered.
  • Experience working within American Indian and/or Alaska Native communities preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes.
  • Knowledgeable on domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, trafficking, and stalking preferred
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening/investigation according to the established requirements

Tribal preference in accordance with Cowlitz Indian Tribe Code and CIT Employee Policies and Procedures Handbook shall apply to all positions. All positions are required to adhere to CIT’s established safety policies regarding vaccine requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Reference checks, education, and employment verification.

  • Has not been found guilty of, charged with, received a deferred sentence, received a conditional discharge of, or entered a plea of not contest to, or entered a plea of guilty to any one felony or misdemeanor crimes of violence, sexual assault, molestation, exploitation or sexual contact; prostitution; or crimes committed against person(s) or children.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and communicate effectively. The employee occasionally is required to move throughout the facility; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and clarity of vision at long distance.

Work is generally performed in an office/clinical setting with a moderate noise level. Situations occur where PPE (personal protective equipment) is needed. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
