About Campus & Community Recreation

Campus & Community Recreation hosts wellness activities and events across the university campuses, offering programs from group exercise to recreational sports and cultural dance, aimed at enhancing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of students, staff, and community members.

Position Summary

The Coordinator assists in managing daily operations of fitness, leisure, and wellness programs, including development, administration, evaluation, staff scheduling, program delivery, and risk management. Responsibilities may include overseeing fitness classes, supporting virtual and digital programs, and serving as a liaison for group fitness certifications.

Key Duties
  • Oversee daily operations of fitness, instructional recreation, and leisure programs.
  • Plan and deliver student-focused programs and supervise staff.
  • Lead fitness classes, support facility operations, and develop safety procedures.
  • Coordinate promotional activities and assist in program development and innovation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of experience in facility, sport, recreation, or event management.
  • Undergraduate degree in kinesiology, physical education, recreation, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C (within 2 years).
  • Certification in Personal Training with CSEP or equivalent; other fitness certifications are assets.
  • Experience in facility management, programming, officiating, or instructing preferred.
  • Customer service and problem-solving skills preferred.
