The City of Edmonton's Planning and Environment Services Branch is seeking a dynamic Program Coordinator to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future for our city. What will you do?
- Design, plan, and launch program activities to initiate and maintain energy transition community incentive programs, managing consultants and vendors to ensure successful outcomes, budget and deliverables
- Lead program activities including research, advising on technical criteria, report writing, developing and implementing participant supports, and building community awareness through public engagement
- Develop marketing and promotional materials and strategies
- Engage citizens through education, events, and resources to enhance participation in climate action through community outreach
- Develop new energy transition initiatives, such as incentive programs, to achieve greenhouse gas reduction and climate adaptation goals.
- Measure and evaluate incentive programs related to energy transition and climate resilience, and track progress on strategic goals and objectives
- Provide support and recommendations for other project teams advancing work related to environment and climate resilience outcomes
- Communicate and collaborate with various interested parties on strategic planning matters
- Support the implementation of Edmonton's key environmental strategies, including the Community Energy Transition Strategy & Action Plan, as well as the Climate Resilient Edmonton: Adaptation Strategy & Action Plan
Qualifications- University degree in business administration, political science, environmental sciences, arts, communications, human sciences or a related field
- A minimum of five (5) years of directly related work experience is required. Leadership, project management, and community engagement/outreach experience within a public sector environment and/or with environmental management systems would be beneficial
Skills required for success:
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in community program development, including design, delivery and management
- Significant knowledge of one or more of the following topics: energy efficiency, energy poverty, renewable energy, climate adaptation, climate equity and rebate or incentive programs
- Knowledge of work methods, studies, analyses and practices related to environment and climate resilience
- Knowledge and experience in strategic and business planning, the business planning cycle and process with a systems thinking approach
- Knowledge of marketing strategies and promotional activities
- Experience in preparing and presenting briefs and reports for various audiences
- Political acumen and well-honed strategies to generate positive conversations that respect public view while advancing strategic goals
- Adept proofreading skills, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling, with a high level of accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation and facilitation experience
- Experience and skill in the use of analytics, and data intelligence to support decision making processes

Work Environment:
- Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance

Up to 1 Temporary Full-time position for up to 11 months
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $46.086 - $ 58.232 Hourly; $96,227.57 - $121,588.42 Annually
Salary ranges are in the process of being updated in accordance with the recently ratified collective agreement between the City and CSU 52 will be forthcoming shortly.
