Dumont Technical Institute, a division of the Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research, invites applications for the following position:

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director, the Program Coordinator 1 position will be responsible for assisting in the implementation, coordination, and administration of Dumont Technical Institute training programs with a focus on pre-employment trades, industry certification, and other credential programs. This includes:

  1. Assisting in the coordination of on-site student supports
  2. Securing infrastructure needs for program offerings
  3. Managing partnerships with key stakeholders
  4. Scheduling and delivery of academic courses
  5. Supervision and support of faculty
  6. Program delivery supports
  7. Ensuring curricula as prescribed by certifying bodies is satisfied

Travel will be required to outlying areas, and a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or Social Work, or a relevant field of study. Experience with Trades and Industry Occupations would be a definite asset. An understanding of Métis culture and the Labour market for Indigenous people is essential to the position. Good interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work with people from various equity groups are required.
