Job Description
The FCSS department provides preventative social services to the residents of the County. Programs will be directed towards seniors, children, youth, families, and volunteers to promote their social and emotional well-being.
We are looking for a Program Assistant with exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills who will provide program and administrative support to FCSS at the Wellington Resource Centre. You will provide front reception including welcoming clients, support the administrative needs of the office, and work with the Community Program Coordinator to provide individual and community services. To be successful in this role you will be a creative and energetic individual with exceptional service skills with experience working with the community the ability to support individuals in crisis.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Providing front reception customer service by greeting walk-in customers, answering phones, and directing clients to appropriate staff and/or agencies.
- Performing administrative duties by preparing and compiling documents, training materials agendas, minutes, faxes, photocopies, managing mail, as well as ensuring administration supplies and equipment maintenance needs are taken care of.
- Assisting clients by providing initial assessments, supporting presenting needs, and offering information and referrals as needed.
- Assisting clients with acquiring/ completing program applications and government forms.
- Assisting in the administration and operation of programs, such as Home Support, Food Bank, Christmas Hamper and Volunteer Income Tax programs.
- Assisting with planning, set-up/ take down, implementation and evaluation of projects, workshops, seminars, and special events.
- Representing FCSS on designated internal committees, as well as at trade shows, open houses, and community information nights, etc.
- Providing the administration, bookings, monitoring, and maintenance of facilities/ properties managed by FCSS.
- Assisting with researching and development of funding and project proposals.
- Receiving and processing payments for programs and services.
- Organizing and attending meetings/retreats as designated (i.e. staff, interagency, facility partners, etc.).
- Fulfilling Emergency Social Services role within GPREP.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration or the field of human services and/or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience working in an office environment within the human social services field.
- Experience working with individuals, families, and organizations.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean abstract.
- Own vehicle that is sufficiently registered and insured as travel is required.
- Clean Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search, upon hire.

Work Schedule: We're offering a 35-hour work week with paid or banked overtime at a 1.5x rate. Hours for this position is Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
Pay Rate: $35.66 to $41.95 per hour
