Are you a highly organized administrative professional with a passion for supporting training and development in a fast-paced environment? We’re seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a key administrative support for the Corrections & Court Services division.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and maintaining a wide array of logistics—from course scheduling, enrollment, and evaluation tracking, to classroom setup and supply/material coordination. You'll serve as the first point of contact for inquiries from staff and students, while ensuring student records are accurately entered and maintained using systems like Colleague, Blackboard, and Web Advisor. In addition, the incumbent will maintain Custody Training & Development Officer (CTDO) records.
As the administrator of BC Corrections' Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) system, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of training across the province. The ELM is a training management system that supports training to BC Government staff across the province. Responsibilities include data entry, troubleshooting user issues in collaboration with the Learning Business Analyst, generating reports, and guiding staff through ELM functionality. The Program Assistant will also communicate ELM progress and concerns to affected users, create new ELM course codes and receive and monitor class attendance lists.
The Program Assistant also oversees program certification processes, ensuring course credits are verified and applications are complete before generating certificates for advancement in key programs like COLD and CS/ME. In addition, you will track applications that are complete and those that are missing requirements on spreadsheets. Should there be missing course credit confirmation the Program Assistant will communicate with instructors and the Assistant Deputy Warden Staffing to obtain required verification.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you’ll contribute to projects involving the creation of course materials, using your keen eye for detail and proficiency with Adobe Design and Microsoft tools. You’ll also provide recurring backup administrative support for SOT and related programs.
If you're a proactive multitasker who thrives on precision and collaboration, this is an exciting opportunity to play an essential role in shaping correctional training and development across British Columbia.
