Job Description

As an Associate Director, you are expected to have:

  • Expertise in delivering and advising on large-scale projects including providing governance, procurement, financial and commercial advice for public and/or private sector clients.
  • Cross sector experience, e.g., infrastructure, energy and natural resources with a strong public procurement background is highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of PMO set up and implementation including governance and oversight of project controls areas and familiarity with associated recommended practices.
  • Demonstrated advisory mentality with experience in strategic governance and transformation of complex projects including advising on project assurance, project maturity assessments and auditing experience.
  • Good experience in providing commercial advice for different contracting models such as P3, alliancing, construction management, integrated project delivery, progressive design, and other collaborative contracting models.
  • Ability to lead and manage end-to-end procurement advisory, procurement strategy, contract administration and provide hands-on advice on value for money, commercial, claims and dispute principles on major projects or programs.
  • Familiar with digital technology and ecosystems of capital programs, e.g., data and information management tools, data automation, analytics and reporting, digital strategy and set up e.g., use of PowerBI, BIM, project controls software etc.
  • Expertise in conducting and implementing effective contract and supplier management strategies with both negotiation and commercial competence.
  • Assess aspects around technical project delivery with respect to legal, financing, funding as well as performance monitoring, payment mechanisms, incentivization, risk sharing provisions and risk allocation strategies.
  • Experience in leading teams, managing, and supervising delivery of others as well as mentoring and coaching talent to provide strategic direction.
  • Lead and support business development, marketing as well as bid preparation and proposal documentation to support the work winning capability of this service.
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships and commission outputs and deliverables towards successful outcomes for our clients.
  • Leader in decision making, negotiation, communication, written and presentation skills and commitment to excellence in client delivery.
  • Successfully leading teams to ensure compliance with Turner & Townsend’s and client’s document management and quality requirements as well as project closeout and lessons learned information.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, or a similar field
  • PMI, APM and/or AACE certification/designation or similar is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Suite - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
  • Knowledge of best practices relevant to project management, commercial management, and project controls areas of knowledge
  • Good with technology/ digital tools and web-based data platforms relevant to this role.
Additional Information

The base salary range for this full-time role is $130,000 - $180,000 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
