Instructors provide classroom instruction and are responsible to department chairs and academic dean.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES

General Expectations of all Jacksonville College Faculty:

1. Exhibit a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
2. Maintain current and comprehensive knowledge and experience in the teaching field and assigned teaching discipline
3. Create a classroom environment reflecting professionalism, equity, respect and trust

Adhere to college policies:

• Abide by Employee Standards of Conduct and Statement of Faith
• Perform job duties as assigned by department chair and dean
• Stay current with and follow departmental and college policies
• Complete required compliance training and stay current on professional development hours
• Meet all classes as scheduled and maximize use of available class time
• Maintain scheduled office hours as required
• Follow attendance and office hour requirements for online and hybrid classes as specified in the online learning course standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education/Experience:

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in instructional field required.
• Agriculture, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, Horticulture, and/or Physics

Preferred Education/Experience:

• Post-secondary teaching experience highly preferred.
