Bombardier is hiring for a Senior Engineering - Electrical Systems Integration in Dorval, QC. The role focuses on developing, certifying, and maintaining electrical power generation and distribution architectures for Bombardier airplanes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years in aircraft electrical system integration or related experience.
• Deep knowledge of RTCA/DO-160, SAE, MIL-STD and airworthiness regulations (TCCA, FAA, EASA).
• Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills to structure complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead Electrical Systems technical improvements for existing and future aircraft programs (optimize architectures, new technologies).
• Prepare, review or approve engineering documents related to electrical system changes on Challenger 3500/650 and Global 5500/6500/7500/8000 aircraft.
• Propose and test novel approaches to optimize emissions, costs, weight, performance, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead technical investigations related to electrical or lighting systems.
• Conduct trade studies for new technology introduction and integration on aircraft.
• Mentor junior members and share lessons learned and best practices.
• Manage interfaces with internal and external partners/suppliers for technical aspects.
• Represent the Electrical discipline with internal and external collaborators.

What are your contributions to the team?

Professional Senior – Engineering – Electrical Systems Integration is a multifaceted position within the Electrical Systems Integration team. This team is responsible for developing, certifying, improving, and maintaining the best industry standards for the Electrical Power Generation & Distribution systems and lighting systems architectures on our airplanes. Our team supports all Bombardier products. In this role, you will:

• Participate and lead Electrical Systems technical improvements & developments for our existing and future airplane programs (optimize architectures, incorporate new technologies, etc.)
• Prepare/review or approve engineering documents related to electrical system changes on our Challenger 3500/650 and Global 5500/6500/7500/8000 airplanes (production + in-service aircraft)
• Propose, elaborate, and test novel approaches to optimize our business airplanes on aspects such as: emissions reduction, costs, weight, performance, customer satisfaction, etc
• Lead technical investigations related to electrical or lighting systems
• Conduct trade studies associated with new technology introduction and integration on aircraft
• Contribute to the Electrical Knowledge Domain to capture lessons learned and best industry practices (product & process) as well as mentoring/guiding junior members or our team
• Manage interfaces with internal & external partners and suppliers for technical aspects
• Represent the Electrical discipline with internal and external collaborators.

How to thrive in this role?

As our ideal candidate, you:

• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
• Have a minimum of 7 years in aircraft electrical system integration or related experience
• Have deep knowledge of relevant industry standards (RTCA/DO-160, SAE, MIL-STD, etc) and with airworthiness (TCCA, FAA, EASA) Regulations and Advisory Materials pertaining to Electrical
• Apply strong analytical and systems-thinking skills to structure complex problems and maintain clarity across disciplines
• Communicate effectively, tailoring technical concepts and project updates to diverse audiences, and clearly articulate status and risks to stakeholders at all levels
• Have leadership and are motivated to work on multiple projects at the same time

• The position is currently a hybrid of working remote from home and on-site work.
