Job summary

McGill University seeks an experienced instructor to lead Professional Seminar 2A (EDPS 622 002/EDPS 620-099) in Winter 2027, delivering seminars on professional ethics and teacher identity and guiding case-based discussions with novice teachers.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field and a teaching credential or equivalent, with solid grounding in reflective practice, equity‑oriented pedagogy, and digital teaching tools.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Teaching degree and certification, or equivalent.
• Strong grounding in teacher development, reflective practice, and equity-oriented approaches to teaching and learning.
• School-based teaching experience in secondary schools, preferably in Quebec.
• Experience supporting teacher candidates in field experience and/or internship contexts.
• Knowledge of the Québec Education Program (QEP) and professional competency frameworks.
• Experience teaching or facilitating learning in teacher education and/or professional seminar contexts.
• Experience supporting candidate reflection on professional identity and competencies.
• Experience facilitating discussion-based, reflective, and relational learning environments.
• Commitment to collaborative planning and delivery across course sections and programs.
• Familiarity with equity, diversity and inclusion in pedagogy.
• Familiarity with myCourses, Zoom and other online platforms for teaching.
• Familiarity with a variety of digital teaching and learning tools.
• Experience teaching blended classes.
• Instruction may be delivered remotely if required by the university.
