Job summary

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education seeks an instructor for EDEC 405-002, Fourth Year Professional Seminar (Kindergarten/Elementary). The course prepares candidates for final field experiences and entry into the teaching profession, emphasizing ethical and professional conduct and final portfolio presentations.

The course is not team-taught or online and runs Winter 2027 in Education Building (EDUC 539) on Tue & Thu mornings.

Qualifications

• Education: MA in a relevant field (i.e., K/Elementary and/or Secondary teacher and/or principal). PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset.
• Experience: Expertise in classroom practices, familiarity with the QEP, and teaching in the Quebec elementary/secondary system.
• Other: Prior successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers; knowledge of equity, diversity and inclusion; familiarity with online platforms to facilitate teaching and learning; experience teaching blended classes.

• Prepare for the final field experience and entry into the teaching profession.
• Demonstrate ethical and responsible professional behaviour across professional competencies.
• Develop working professional portfolios and address l'approche programme (CAPFE requirements).
