The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team promotes person-centered care via evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies. They lead in fostering a culture of collaboration, focusing on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and professional development to improve health outcomes. The team collaborates with academia, regulators, and government to influence health system priorities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Director, the Professional Practice Leader (PPL) enhances quality person-centered care and practice by supporting and improving professional practices. The PPL leads in creating a learning culture, focusing on wellness, clinical practice, leadership, and interprofessional standards aligned with regulatory bodies. The role involves consulting on wellness and professional practice issues at various levels and working with interprofessional teams, including physicians, to promote evidence-based, person-centered care.

This position requires periodic travel within the province; access to reliable transportation is essential.

About You

We are interested if you have:

  • Health profession education at Master’s level or higher related to interprofessional practice (e.g., Master of Education). Candidates enrolled in a Master’s program will also be considered.
  • Active licensure in good standing or eligibility to practice in Nova Scotia, nursing preferred.
  • At least five years of clinical experience in a related health discipline, with operational or leadership experience, nursing preferred.
  • At least three years of progressive leadership experience, such as management or advanced practice roles like clinical nurse specialist, Nurse Practitioner, educator, or practice coordinator.
  • Completion of CIINDE Comprehensive Holistic Nurse, Nurse Coach, and Consultant Certificate programs is an asset.
  • Experience in designing and delivering competency-based education and clinical learning within complex, collaborative environments.
  • Ability to critically analyze evidence-based practices to develop innovative educational and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in mentoring and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative manner.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret program data for quality improvement.
  • Experience working with diverse learners and stakeholders, with an understanding of cultural competence and social inclusion.
  • Experience in human resource management within legislative health practice frameworks.

Permanent Full-Time, 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$49.36 - $61.60/hour, which totals approximately $96,052 - $120,116 annually.
