Work Type: Professional Practice Co-ordinator (PPC) - Temporary Full Time 12 months

Location: WRHN @ Midtown (formerly Grand River Hospital, KW Campus)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice at Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) the Professional Practice Co-ordinator role provides support to Professional Practice and collaborates with several Corporate Programs, including Human Resources, Organizational Development, Digital Learning and Collaborative Practice. The PPC is also responsible for coordinating clinical and non-clinical learners within the Professional Learner Program, liaising with our academic partners as well as support of Ministry of Health Programs related to regulated health human resources managed by Professional Practice.

Responsibilities

The PPC will work with internal and external stakeholders as required on various projects. The PPC will attain a detailed understanding of assigned projects including initiation, planning, execution, evaluation and follow up. This work may include exploration of challenges, providing recommendations, and working with stakeholders and organization partners to define or redefine local or system processes, identify gaps and necessary resources to achieve goals. The PPC will organize, debrief and apprise team members related to project work. They will also manage and monitor project performance including spreadsheets, process maps, issues, action items, and escalation processes. The PPC will be required to review deliverables and track progress, and prepare status reports, inclusive of metrics as well as prepare and participate in the delivery of presentations to organizational partners, stakeholders and teams.

The PPC is responsible for the collection and handling of confidential information between the educational institutions and the hospital. The PPC role also includes other duties such as facilitating new learner orientation sessions, organizing and facilitating community activities as well as internal and external corporate educational opportunities.

Position Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field an asset
  • PMP certification or project management experience in health care an asset;
  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a healthcare institution
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with HSPNet an asset
  • Effective planning and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to set priorities
  • Ability to assume responsibility and demonstrate initiative in the coordination of information from multiple sources
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to foster good working relationships
