Position : Professional Learning and Resource Specialist, Quality Initiatives

Reports to : Supervisor, Quality Initiatives

Contract Duration : July 2025 - December 2025

Position Profile :

This position supports the Quality Initiatives programs with a focus on capacity building through professional learning and the resource center lending library operations.

Major Responsibilities :

Professional Learning :

  • Provide support to coordinate, develop, and evaluate professional learning sessions (in person and virtually) including but not limited to workshops, conferences, podcasts, webinars (live and pre-recorded) and other modes of learning opportunities that are responsive to community needs
  • Support the Quality Initiatives team with administrative and clerical duties
  • Provide excellent customer service, acting as the first point of contact for community members for professional learning and resource library along with internal administrative / clerical coverage and support
  • Professional learning session coverage and on-site and off-site presenter and attendee support
  • Coordinate professional learning registrations and payments
  • Provide support in facilitating professional learning, at conferences, seminars and community events and all virtual professional learning opportunities
  • Responsible for procuring appropriate sub-contractors / presenters, organizing professional learning sessions and compiling the Professional Learning Booklet in line with timelines
  • Obtain quotes for presenters, materials, resources, and facilities as needed
  • Maintain records for invoices, sales including, ordering products, and maintaining inventory
  • Receive / prepare invoices and liaise with vendors and clients
  • Maintain contact lists for committees, community programs and early learning and childcare programs
  • Maintain electronic documents and manage documents and information on relevant portals such as SharePoint
  • Support the day-to-day operations of any relevant databases related to professional learning and resource library management
  • Collect, generate, and analyze statistics, trends, and data to make informed decision regarding professional learning and resources offered to the community
  • Knowledgeable about current and future andrological trends and innovative approaches to current operations / delivery models
  • Assist with all CDRCP events (in person and virtually)
  • Provide support to prepare, format and transcribe confidential correspondence, reports, forms, manuals, resource materials, agendas and minutes, surveys, feedback forms, and modifying these documents as needed
  • Responding to general inquires and forwarding enquires to appropriate internal and external individuals / groups
  • Ensure the development of resources is based on current research and community needs
  • Manage relevant Quality Initiatives sections on the website
  • Recommend professional learning opportunities based on statistical trends and data
  • The incumbent is required to maintain all health and safety standards, including but not limited to the infectious disease directives and procedures, sanitation of workstations and common areas in the office as per protocols
  • Providing on site support to the resource center clients
  • Create awareness with community / clients and programs of appropriate learning kits, materials, and features of the lending library
  • Conduct administrative tasks to support the overall operations of the Resource Center including managing memberships, payments, loans, and other related activities
  • Maintain records for invoices, sales including, ordering products, and maintaining inventory
  • Receive / prepare invoices and liaise with vendors and clients
  • Researching and creating new learning kits based on research and evidence based effective practices to support a variety of philosophies and curriculums
  • Follow all protocols and procedures related to signing in and out of materials, including sanitation and proper handling of materials
  • Support community event to promote engagement
  • Maintaining documentation, records and data, including monthly stats

  • Facilitate and engage public education and awareness to promote the quality initiatives goals and objectives
  • Maintain strong awareness and understanding of CDRCP’s programs and services
  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, public speaking, and time management skills
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of all relevant and pending legislation
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and abide by all legislation
  • Maintain a solid understanding of project management
  • Maintain sound knowledge of current and future andrological trends and innovative approaches to current operations / delivery models

  • Review relevant research to ensure practices and resources reflect best practices
  • Maintain a broad knowledge of early learning and child development
  • Thorough understanding of pedagogy and andragogy and best practices related to eLearning
  • Ability to work flexible hours and act independently as a team player
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills to represent the interests of CDRCP both internally and externally
  • Effective use of current technology including MS Office, databases, social media, website maintenance, and internal approved platforms for communication
  • Accountability

  • Meet service delivery standards in line with organizational / department and funder expectations
  • Support the implementation of service delivery standards and outcomes related to quality measurement and evaluation, based on effective practices
  • Collect and maintain data, surveys and feedback to accurately monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of learning and educational materials
  • Work within the budget provided by the Manager / Supervisor
  • Utilize reporting procedures and maintain accurate, concise documentation
  • Provide and review weekly and monthly work plans to Manager / Supervisor that demonstrate deliverables and duties are being met as per expectations along with updates on other projects as assigned
  • Leadership

  • Support the early learning and child care setting by, sharing learning and education materials and opportunities which support the development of quality programs for children
  • Initiate new ideas and opportunities based on research, data and effective practices relevant to the sector
  • Function as coordination lead for assigned projects / events with support from team members
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, committees and community meetings and events (in-person and remotely)
  • Physical Effort / Environment

  • The incumbent works in a standard office environment including the use of current technology, and is not exposed to unpleasant environmental conditions. CDRCP is a scent free organization
  • The incumbent may be required to work remotely, and should maintain working standards in line with all relevant policies or procedures issued by CDRCP
  • The incumbent may be required to engage in staggered shifts / breaks, rotating weeks in the office, work remotely, and move workstations for enhanced health and safety measures
  • The incumbent is required to travel within and outside Peel to complete job responsibilities. The ability to drive and move frequently from one location to another is required
  • The incumbent is required to follow guidelines and directives regarding infectious disease control

  • This role requires effective use of current technology, a computer and other standard office equipment. The ability to drive and move frequently from one location to another is required. Stress may result from shifting deadlines and the need to remain proactive to ensure situations achieve the best possible outcomes.

  • Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education and registered with the College of ECE in good standing; adult learning and human services or related field
  • Event coordination experience is an asset
  • Clear English verbal and written communication skills, second language an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle a range of responsibilities at the same time through effective prioritizing and time management skills
  • Acceptable Criminal Reference Check
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License, a safe driving record and access to independent transportation
