Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking a Professional Engineering professional for Air Systems/Pneumatics. This role involves engineering environmental control, bleed air, cabin pressurization, and related pneumatic systems within a multi-disciplinary team in an aerospace context.

The successful candidate will define system architecture, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure compliance through testing and documentation. Travel for short-term assignments and fluent French/English are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 5–8 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid flow and thermodynamics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-810 and ARP-4754A.
  • Willing to travel for short-term assignments; bilingual French/English.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a systems engineer and carry out pneumatics discipline activities.
  • Define pneumatic system architecture, prepare specs and requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal groups and suppliers on interfaces.
  • Support testing, verification, and certification documentation.
  • Ensure project milestones and knowledge domain contributions.
  • Assist production and in-service teams to troubleshoot systems.
  • Review design documents and prepare technical reports.
  • Travel for short-term assignments.

Professional Engineering – Air Systems/Pneumatics

You will be part of the Air Systems Engineering / Pneumatics Systems Discipline team, involved in Aircraft Systems Engineering for Environmental Control, Bleed Air, Ice and Rain Protection, Cabin Pressurization, Fire/Smoke detection, Heaters, Oxygen, Flow distribution and Ventilation.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a systems engineer and carry out pneumatics discipline activities
  • Assure integration and interface management of assigned systems and coordinate with internal groups & suppliers
  • Define pneumatic system architecture, prepare specifications and requirements, conduct functional modeling and trade studies
  • Ensure engineering requirements management, validation and verification
  • Manage suppliers from an engineering project and engineering technical perspective
  • Review and approve engineering design documents such as vendor drawings, test procedures, acceptance test procedures, qualification reports and certification documents
  • Document technical engineering analysis, ground, and flight test results
  • Prepare engineering technical reports to show compliance with the applicable certification requirements
  • Support the build and operation of test platforms (rigs, flight test vehicles)
  • Work within multi‑disciplinary team to address product engineering definition or issue resolution
  • Prepare design change modifications and optimized solutions
  • Support production and in‑service teams in troubleshooting engineering systems related issues
  • Ensure adherence to program schedule and milestones
  • Contribute to Knowledge Domain and Bombardier Engineering System (BES)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering
  • Ideally 5–8 years of relevant technical experience in an aerospace engineering field
  • Excellent knowledge of fluid flow and thermodynamic concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Basic knowledge in pneumatics and interfacing technical disciplines such as system installation, avionics, power plant and others
  • Familiarity with component qualification (DO‑160, MIL‑STD‑810)
  • Familiarity with Design Process Assurance (ARP‑4754A)
  • Knowledge of functional modeling and system performance testing
  • Comfortable with the technical aspects of engineering as well as project management
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Knowledge of system design tools such as model‑based engineering or simulation software
  • Recognized team player, works well in a team environment and builds collaborative relationships
  • Self‑motivated, dynamic and a good communicator
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Willing to travel for short‑term assignments
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required
