A local cultural organization in Barrie, Ontario, is seeking team members for summer workshops focused on professional development. Positions follow a hybrid work model, combining remote work with in-person tasks. Applicants aged 15-30 must meet federal funding requirements. The role offers valuable experience in a supportive team environment, with full-time contracts ranging from 8 to 16 weeks.
The Professional Development team plans, schedules, and hosts a variety of workshop series during the summer season and prepares materials for deployment in Fall and Winter. This multidisciplinary team operates primarily through online platforms like Zoom, presenting industry speakers to audiences of 15-300 participants. Responsibilities include moderating questions, recording sessions, and editing content for replay. In 2025, we seek team members to support or specialize in artistic, administrative, or technical workshops.
Our waterfall mentorship model encourages knowledge sharing, allowing team members to learn from each other's expertise. These roles offer progressive responsibilities throughout the summer, providing opportunities for growth within a supportive team environment.
Full-time summer contracts range from 8 to 16 weeks, from May to September. We welcome post-secondary students seeking co-op or work placements, with positions funded by the Government of Canada at Ontario's minimum wage.

Typical work hours are approximately 35 hours per week, with rotational evening and weekend shifts. The position involves collaboration, creativity, and community engagement, including some evening and weekend work.
