Join to apply for the Professional Aide role at Michigan State University College of Engineering.

Position Summary (Basic Job Function):

This is a temporary or on-call position providing professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural, or other professional support functions. The term allows for two nine-month periods with a week break in between; after the second term, the position may be terminated for three months or switched to on-call status. On-call employees can work up to 1039 hours in any twelve-month period.

Unit Position Summary:

The NMSI Professional Aid will assist the NMSI Program Associate Director with daily operations, including data entry, filing, processing applications, maintaining records, and other duties as assigned.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. 40% - Communication: Email and call students, employers, and CAMP programs; follow up on survey results; calendar management; and orient students on the project.
  2. 40% - Data Processing: Track student participation and stipends; create and maintain files for students and employers; organize and revise NMSI files regularly.
  3. 15% - Marketing: Manage social media presence, newsletters, and research related to the program.
  4. 5% - Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the program director(s).

Desired Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 60 college credit hours
  • At least 1 year of office experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience with programs similar to NMSI
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Experience working with the Migrant/Seasonal Farmworker community
  • Marketing and design software experience
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Teamwork skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational skills
