Production Worker (Direct Support Technician):

The Direct Support Technician works in a Clean Room environment, responsible for preparing solutions and components. They operate according to good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures, collaborating effectively with team members. This position requires on-site work at our Burnaby facility in British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare solutions and product components as per procedures.
2. Operate and calibrate production equipment.
3. Prepare bioprosthetic valves for downstream processing per prescribed procedures.
4. Clean and sanitize machines as needed.
5. Monitor and manage solution change requirements for heart valves.
6. Perform final packaging and re-packaging of heart valves.
7. Maintain traceability and documentation of all materials and components.
8. Clean controlled environments and gowning areas following procedures.
9. Handle chemicals safely according to established protocols.
10. Communicate work-related issues in person or via email.
11. Ensure understanding of work instructions, schedules, and information.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to perform repetitive, detailed work accurately and maintain precise records.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; ability to follow instructions.
• Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills; ability to learn new software (e.g., Microsoft Office, MES).
• Open-mindedness and receptiveness to constructive feedback.
• Teamwork skills and the ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma.
• Experience or education in a related industry is preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Fixed weekday shifts, with occasional weekends and overtime; shift times vary based on business needs.
• Extended periods of kneeling, bending, standing, and walking.
• Work in a controlled environment requiring protective garments and safety equipment.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Handling chemicals safely.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle are preferred.
