Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Worker is primarily responsible for the operation of various shop equipment in order to prepare steel orders for delivery to Salit customers, on time and in compliance with company and customer requirements for quality, in a safe and efficient manner.
This position is stationed in our Welland Facility, 90 Centre Street, Welland. Shift work is required for this position.
Work is performed in a non-climate controlled environment. Temperatures will fluctuate in accordance with the weather and the season. Employees are to dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
Continuous walking, standing
Occasional heavy lifting – Employees are to use two man lift techniques or other lifting devices for loads that exceed their ability to lift safely (eg. Overhead Crane)
Working in the yards and shops with the steel is dirty, so wear suitable clothing.
Able to work on your feet – repetitive standing / walking
Lifting up to 50 lbs ( 23kg)
Must wear hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, safety boots
Works independently and in a team environment
