Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Haley Division is seeking a Production Worker to handle diverse tasks from receiving assignments to packaging parts for global shipment. The role requires manual dexterity, depth perception and the ability to work with respirators and PPE.

Training and background checks are part of the process. The position is based in Ottawa Valley, Ontario, with shift rotations and safety equipment provided.

Qualifications

• Production Worker candidates must possess a High School Diploma/GED Certificate or equivalent training and experience.
• Background checks including criminal record and CGP are required.

Responsibilities

• Receiving work assignments for completing various tasks.
• Inspecting various parts for defects and accuracy.
• Sanding various parts to create smooth finishes.
• Moving parts from one department to another.
• Packaging parts to be shipped to Global Locations.

Various Position Responsibilities may include:

• Receiving work assignments for completing various tasks
• Inspecting various parts for defects and accuracy
• Sanding various parts to create smooth finishes
• Moving parts from one department to another
• Removing sand from various casting parts
• Dipping parts in various chemicals to seal the alloy and prevent rusting
• Packaging parts to be shipped to Global Locations
• Other duties as assigned by management

Education Requirements:

Production Worker candidates must possess a High School Diploma/GED Certificateor equivalent training and experience.

Security Requirements:

• We conduct a criminal Record Check on all new hires
• We conduct a Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Check on all new hires; must be able to give 3 references to help verify your identity

Work Conditions:

• The ideal candidate will be able to work a shift rotation (Currently Monday-Friday morning and afternoon shifts but subject to change based upon business needs).
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
  • For a respirator to function effectively, it must form a close and secure fit to the face. Any gaps in the seal can allow airborne contaminants to bypass the respirator, reducing its protective capability. That's why fit testing and being clean-shaven in the areas where the mask seals are essential components of proper respirator use.
• Manual dexterity and depth perception required to perform remote handling of various materials/parts.
• Extended periods of standing at a work station on cement production floor.
• Must wear appropriate Protective Personal Equipment such as: Hearing Protection, CSA approved steel toed footwear, safety glasses, etc.).
