Job summary

Sonoco in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a Production Worker for a 3‑month contract. Salary is $28.64 per hour with a daytime shift schedule (Monday to Thursday 7:00 am–4:30 pm, Friday 7:00 am–11:00 am).

You will support the production team by removing finished goods, inspecting equipment, and operating power machinery. Candidates should have Grade 12, be 18+, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and willing to work rotating days and overtime.

Qualifications

• Good level of computer and mechanical aptitude.
• Prior production/mill house experience preferred.
• Tow motor/lift truck experience desirable.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Age 18+.
• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to rotate shifts (days) and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist team members in removing finished goods from machine.
• Perform routine inspections on various process-related equipment.
• Operate and clean various operation related power equipment.
• Use powered propane/diesel lift truck/tow motor (upon in-house certification).
• Organize work stations for daily routine tasks.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as required.

To qualify , you(r):

• preferably have prior production/mill house experience
• tow motor/lift truck experience is desirable
• are able to work with minimal supervision
• are 18 years of age or older
• have Grade 12 education or equivalent
• are legally entitled to work in Canada
• are able to perform physical requirements of the job (lifting up to 50 lbs)
• are available to work a rotating shift (days only) and willing to work overtime, as required
