Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: 4050 Wanuskewin Road, Saskatoon

Hours: 12-hour shift (every other weekend off)

ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Process Operator to join our Production team! Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Process Operator operates and controls equipment within the Chloralkali Manufacturing plant. Production Operators are responsible for monitoring and adjusting equipment operation to produce high-quality products in a safe and environmentally friendly way. This is a unionized position,

The Role:

  • Operates and monitors plant brine supply and treatment systems as well as environmental processes and equipment.
  • For all equipment and processes operated, takes corrective action when necessary to maintain operation within acceptable operating limits, as described in the operations procedures and the process controls manual.
  • Regulates, observes, and records, flows, temperatures, levels, pressures, etc. pertaining to operations.
  • Prepares equipment for inspection or repairs by isolating, draining, degassing, and testing equipment for chemicals or flammable gasses and preparing work permits and lockouts before releasing for maintenance.
  • Detects, analyzes, and takes necessary corrective measure to correct process variation of equipment or instrument malfunction.
  • Tests alarms, automatic and manual controls for proper operation.
  • Works cooperatively within a team environment.

The Person:

  • Education: High School degree or above (Technical College) required.
  • Preference given to candidates who hold a Power Engineering ticket and/or have previous experience in an industrial or chemical environment.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing in industries such as chemical, pulp and paper, and food processing.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment Effective written and oral skills, excellent troubleshooting skills, and basic computer knowledge.

Renumeration:

  • The rate of pay for this unionized position starts at $50.10 per hour. The successful applicant will receive 90% of this rate for the probationary period of 120 days.
