Job summary

BWXT Medical Ltd. is recruiting a Production Technician for on-site work at 4004 Wesbrook Mall, Vancouver, BC.

You will support manufacturing and processing of highly regulated medical isotopes, learning isotope procedures and safety protocols throughout the full production cycle. Requirements include a post-secondary science/technical diploma and at least 1 year in radioisotope production, with physical duties such as lifting and dexterity.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary graduate (3 years) in science or a technical discipline.
• Minimum 1 year experience in radioisotope production.
• Ability to learn and implement Medical Isotope processes and safety procedures.
• Must pass vision and hearing tests; health and hygiene assessments.

Responsibilities

• Learn, understand and implement Medical Isotope process procedures and safety.
• Perform full production cycle: material prep, equipment setup, product processing, packaging, documentation, and shutdown procedures.
• Conduct general housekeeping and other related duties as required.

We are currently recruiting for a Production Technician

Location of Work: On-site: 4004 Wesbrook Mall, Vancouver. BC

Job Summary

The Production Technician position is responsible for performing duties related to the manufacturing and processing of highly regulated products within the Medical Isotopes production area.

Responsibilities

• The Production Technician must have the ability to learn, understand and implement Medical Isotope process procedures as well as procedures pertaining to radiation and industrial safety.
• They must demonstrate the ability to perform the complete production process cycle which consists of material, equipment and facility preparation, product processing, order dispensing, product packaging, process documentation and execute emergency shutdown procedures.
• They also perform general housekeeping and other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Graduate (3 years) education or related experience in an appropriate science/technical discipline is required.
• Minimum 1-year experience in radioisotope production.

Additional Requirements

• Works under general direction and guidance. Decisions are normally made based on interpretation of well-defined policies and precedent.
• Physical requirements: Good manual dexterity and grip strength
• Push/pull hand carts with a force of up to 25kgs on an occasional basis
• Lift up to 5kgs on a frequent basis and 10kgs on an occasional basis
• Work with arms and hands on a frequent basis
• This position requires the successful completion of a vision screening and hearing test as a pre-employment condition.
• In accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices, the candidate must be free of a communicable disease.
• This position requires the successful completion of Health and Hygiene medical assessment as a pre-employment condition.

The base salary range for this position in British Columbia (CA-BC)at the start of employment is expected to be between $72,315 and $90,605 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an o ffer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
