Skretting Vancouver is looking for a Production Technician who can execute a broad range of operational activities/processes, in accordance with established specifications and (quality, safety and environment) guidelines, in order to achieve the production / operational targets. The Production Technician will start on packaging but eventually will be an all-round operator, capable of performing all operational processes in production. He / she is a dedicated and reliable individual, able to operate all types of equipment and machinery.

Job Description:

Operational tasks:

1. Executes a broad range of operational activities/processes (such as discharge, load, transport, clean, label, operate all equipment), in order to execute/manage parts/stages in production, contributing to a safe, effective and efficient production process.

Reporting:

1. Logs data and information on production orders and activities in the appropriate logbooks/systems in order to have a complete administration and insight into the state and progress of production orders.

Continuous improvement:

1. Signals deviations in current processes, techniques and/or systems and flags opportunities for improvement with supervisor, in order to continuously optimize and improve operational (work) processes, tools and systems.
2. May participate in improvement projects.

Safety & Compliance:

1. Works in compliance with all relevant (personal as well as food) safety, environmental and quality regulations and procedures, as well as operational standards.
2. Promotes awareness on SHEQ, signals potential hazardous and/or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action in case of imminent unsafe situations.

Good housekeeping:

1. Ensures the work area is left clean and in a safe working condition and that there are no hazardous situations. Maintains the appearance of the production line(s), working area(s) and production site.

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

1. At least 3+ years of experience with understanding of production, packaging, machine operation, safety standards in the manufacturing operations or production environment.

Expectation from the Role:

1. Hands-on with all production and packaging activities.
2. Good knowledge of the safety standards, ability to signal potential hazardous and/or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action in case of imminent unsafe situations.
