MDA is seeking a Production Supervisor for the weekend shift to ensure the smooth flow of production activities, adherence to technical specifications, and compliance with quality requirements. You will lead and coach the production team, coordinating with program managers to resolve constraints and optimize outcomes.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, strong Excel and ERP knowledge, and experience in a unionized environment.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in operations/production management, or related discipline (optional and asset).
• Minimum of 5 years of management/supervision experience.
• Knowledge of electronics/mechanical technologies in space hardware is an asset.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP understanding.

Role:

The Production Supervisor - weekend shift is responsible for the optimal flow of production activities and coaching the work team to ensure that products are manufactured according to standards, technical specifications, and quality requirements.

Tasks:

• Leads various teams related to operations logistics and production
• Reviews program requirements, assesses constraints, and resolves operational conflicts
• Actively works to improve production-related work methods and processes
• Advises program managers and line managers on conflicting resource demand issues
• Assigns production personnel based on the established production schedule
• Acts as a coach, trains subordinate personnel, and actively participates in their skills development
• Acts as the primary resource person for production employees
• Monitors and accelerates the availability of resources, material, and operations while respecting our quality standards
• Adequately communicates relevant information and works to develop the autonomy and effective teamwork of their team
• Performs operations supervision tasks within the context of their specified areas and with knowledge of the company's collective agreements
• In addition to supervising direct employees in their group, the candidate will provide guidance and support to the entire production team regarding tasks, programs, and production management

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in operations/production management, mechanical engineering, administration, or a related discipline is optional and an asset.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant management/supervision/control experience (sensitive to quality, costs, schedule)
• Knowledge of electronic and mechanical technologies involved in space hardware production is an asset.
• Excellent understanding of planning tools and ERP logic. Knowledge of planning, purchasing, finance, and ERP system modules and understanding of the interrelation of these modules.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Advanced interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes is an asset.
• Experience in a unionized environment.

Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a reliability status security clearance and successfully pass the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR security assessment.
