Job summary

Carfair Composites, a unit of NFI Group, seeks a Production Supervisor for the night shift in Winnipeg, MB. You will lead daily operations, manage labour, and ensure on-time, quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include enforcing ISO standards, driving Lean improvements, and coordinating maintenance and material control. Strong leadership and experience in production planning are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 8+ years of supervisory or related manufacturing experience, preferably in a production environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety practices.
  • Previous demonstrated experience to manage schedules, labour planning, and daily operations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Experience with Lean, continuous improvement, or process optimization is an asset.
  • Ability to problem-solve, make decisions, and lead teams through change.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production activities to ensure parts are made on time and meet quality standards.
  • Plan labour needs based on schedules, sales orders, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor workforce attendance, punctuality, and productivity.
  • Maintain strong employee relations, motivation, and team performance.
  • Ensure all work instructions, procedures, and ISO quality standards are being followed.
  • Conduct internal audits and support CAPARs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; enforce PPE and safety rules.
  • Support the Return-to-Work program and identify suitable modified duties.
  • Apply Lean principles to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with new layouts, methods, and procedures.
  • Communicate changes clearly to the team and support documentation updates.
  • Schedule and monitor routine equipment and plant maintenance.
  • Control use of materials, tools, and supplies to reduce waste, scrap, and rework.
  • Ensure plant openings, closings, and lock-up procedures are followed.
  • Track labour hours, material usage, and production performance.
  • Support planning departments with labour estimates, production hours, and cost information.
  • Assist leadership during budget planning and discussions on equipment, staffing, and process improvements.
  • Provide relevant labour-related information for HR and union matters.

Full-Time | Sunday to Thursday | 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting daily operations in our manufacturing facility for the overnight shift. This role will include overseeing production schedules, ensuring quality standards, providing leadership to employees, and helping to improve our processes through Lean principles. They will manage and play a key role in keeping our plant running safely, efficiently, and productively.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Production Leadership & Coordination:

Quality, Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure all work instructions, procedures, and ISO quality standards are being followed and in accordance with company policies.
  • Conduct annual internal audits and support Corrective and Preventative Action Report's (CAPARs).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; enforce PPE and safety rules.
  • Support the RTW (Return-to-Work) program and identify suitable modified duties.
Continuous Improvement & Lean:
  • Apply Lean principles to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with new layouts, methods, and procedures.
  • Communicate changes clearly to the team and support documentation updates.
