The Production Supervisor is accountable for supervising, co-ordinating, providing leadership to, and reviewing the work of assigned personnel. This position is responsible for developing and implementing work methods, as well as applying departmental procedures in accordance with Teknion’s policies and standards.
Responsibilities :
- This position is responsible for planning the day-to-day departmental operations and executing departmental schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity.
- This incumbent is accountable for developing and implementing work methods, authorizing overtime, and controlling costs.
- This incumbent is accountable for assigning and checking the work of designated staff.
- This position is responsible for overseeing employees' performance and providing guidance in resolving routine problems.
- The Production Supervisor is accountable for working with subordinates to ensure all quality standards are met and for controlling production costs. To achieve this, the incumbent ensures all processes are efficient and comply with company standards.
- This position is responsible for communicating and reinforcing adherence to safety programs. The incumbent is accountable for promoting a safe work environment by ensuring proper training, tools, and equipment are available to employees.
- This incumbent is accountable for promoting housekeeping and cleanliness to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring subordinate staff are treated with respect and for reinforcing Teknion’s progressive discipline policy to correct unacceptable behaviors.
- This incumbent is accountable for evaluating and recommending changes in methods and procedures within their area of responsibility.
- This position acts as a liaison with other departments or organizations.
- This incumbent is accountable for monitoring departmental activities and preparing related reports.
- This position involves estimating personnel needs, scheduling, and assigning work to meet deadlines as per the Production Manager's schedules.
- This incumbent is responsible for familiarizing employees with organizational policies, procedures, and regulations, and ensuring compliance.
- This position involves interviewing and recommending candidates for employment.
- This incumbent is accountable for conducting performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned personnel.
Qualifications :
- College diploma or University degree
- 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good leadership and decision-making skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good understanding of Teknion’s products
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Computer literacy
