Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our matcha tea processing operations. The successful candidate will ensure efficient production, maintain high-quality standards, and lead a team in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. This role requires technical expertise in matcha processing equipment, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to meeting production goals while adhering to stringent food safety regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation : Independently operate and maintain industrial grinding and filling matcha machines, including high-speed output (20kg / hour) equipment and small bead mill matcha machines. Perform installation, uninstallation, cleaning, and sanitization to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Production Oversight : Manage daily matcha production operations to ensure efficiency, adherence to production schedules, and compliance with work orders.
• Workflow Coordination : Monitor and coordinate workflow to meet production targets while upholding quality standards.
• Team Leadership : Supervise, train, and schedule production staff, conducting performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
• Safety Compliance : Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all team members adhere to operational procedures and protocols.
• Quality Control : Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure matcha products meet FSSC 22000 food safety standards and company specifications.
• Maintenance Coordination : Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule regular servicing and facilitate prompt repairs of production machinery.
• Record Keeping : Maintain accurate and detailed records of production data, including finished goods output, material losses, and inventory levels.

Qualifications

Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of and proficiency in operating high-speed industrial matcha machines (20kg / hour) and small bead mill matcha machines.

Regulatory Knowledge : FSSC 22000 food safety compliance system and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) knowledge is required. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations knowledge is required.

Industry Experience : At least two years of proven experience in tea processing and manufacturing, with a strong understanding of matcha production processes.

Mechanical Aptitude : Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain production equipment for preventative maintenance purposes.

Leadership Skills : At least one year of experience leading, motivating, and managing a production team effectively.

Communication : Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments.

Education : High School Diploma

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly Rate : $36 per hour, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular rate.

Work Schedule : Permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM.
