We are looking for a Group Leader on the Evening Shift. The Group Leader is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and planning for a department while promoting and working to meet the goals outlined in our strategic plan. The ideal candidate has leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.

This is an Evening Shift position working Monday - Thursday, 4:00 pm - 3:00 am

What you will do
  • Develop, communicate, and execute work plans
  • Participate in development of business unit operating plans
  • Liaise between team members and other support functions as required (i.e.: HR, Payroll, Engineering, Maintenance etc.)
  • Achieve goals in safety, quality and on-time delivery
  • Execute work, staffing and training plans for designated team
  • Monitor indicators and take action to resolve issues that could negatively impact the teams
  • Performance management of team members including orientation
  • Partner with other Group Leaders to achieve corporate goals/targets
  • Utilize Lean principles and drive continuous improvement
  • Provides recognition and motivation through team celebration
  • Develop team unity
  • Maintenance of departmental workplace injury documentation and performance measures
  • Provide product and process training to employees, cross train employees in a variety of jobs
  • Ensure that product meets quality standards
In this role, you will bring
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to provide effective mentorship, coaching and maintain a positive team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead change, build strong rapport with others and build a team culture
  • Self-Awareness including demonstrated emotional intelligence
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and shop documentation such as work orders
  • Ability to function in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required to support business needs
