Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Mississauga, ON
Shift: continental shift with 2-week rotation
4 days on /4 days off
7 am - 7 pm / 7 pm - 7 am
Salary Rate:70,000 - 80,000 with bonus structure
Role: Direct Hire
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily plant operations and a team of Production employees in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. This role will focus on meeting production targets while maintaining safety, quality, efficiency, and environmental standards. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop Production employees while promoting accountability and teamwork.
- Plan daily staffing, assign work, and adjust priorities to meet production requirements.
- Monitor production performance, quality, labour hours, and key operating metrics.
- Review material requirements and coordinate with Maintenance regarding equipment concerns.
- Support operations and optimize production recovery and efficiency. Delegate tasks to team.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, equipment performance, productivity, and product quality.
- Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, environmental requirements, and applicable legislation.
- Conduct team meetings and communicate production priorities, expectations, and operational updates.
- Address employee and workplace concerns and work with HR and management on disciplinary matters when required.
- Coordinate overtime, approve time records, and maintain accurate production documentation.
- Work with other Supervisors and management to coordinate activities across shifts and departments.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide production information and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Oracle or another ERP system is an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to interpret operating procedures, safety documentation, production instructions, and reports.
- Comfortable making decisions and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment
- Industrial manufacturing/plant environment with exposure to equipment and elevated noise levels.
- Required PPE includes hard hat, safety footwear, safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, and hearing protection.
- Regular standing, walking, reaching, and movement throughout the production floor is required.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional travel for training or business requirements may be required.
