(SUPERVISOR, PRODUCTION-FOOD AND BEVERAGE PROCESSING)

With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. We are currently seeking a PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR to join our team at our main processing facility in Brooks, AB.

NOTE: THIS ROLE WILL BE LOCATED IN BROOKS, AB

**RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Plans and schedules manpower, materials, product and machines to effectively utilize departmental policies and procedures to maintain standards for safety, quality and overall company personnel satisfaction.
  • Work with Production Scheduler and Operations teams to maintain make sheet accuracy and meet required product specifications for both domestic and international customers.
  • Manages employee performance, providing positive and/or corrective feedback.
  • Direct hourly unionized employees for the efficient operation of the facility.
  • Promotes department and company goodwill through pro-active employee communication and involvement.
  • Identify and facilitate the implementation of process improvements and cost savings opportunities aligned with system utilization goals (KPI’s) and key business objectives.
  • Investigates areas of quality improvement, cost reduction, method improvement yield control and equipment maintenance and provides suggestions.
  • Document and maintain accurate records regarding employee performance, product quality, daily reconciliation, health and safety, and payroll.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures and provide step-by-step guidance to production team members to ensure best in class processes are implemented consistently.
  • Develop, lead and coach employees through effective training and recognition.
  • Implement and maintain the Company's safety program evidenced by an exemplary safety record. Utilize best practices in safety leadership.
  • Active involvement in the Continuous Improvement Program to achieve productivity improvements and waste reduction.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory work experience;
  • Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict;
  • Self-starter with good analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Completion of College Diploma or equivalent is considered an asset;
  • Flexible to work shifts;
  • Cold and Hot Area;
  • Attention to Detail;
  • Work Under Pressure;
  • Knowledge of HACCP, Health & Safety concerns and GMP;
  • Previous experience in a food processing industry is required;
  • Excellent English Oral and Written Communication; Team Player;
  • Criminal Record Check is required;

Work Site Environment:Noisy, Odours, Hot, Cold/refrigerated.
