Fleming Door (an ASSA ABLOY brand) is expanding the Operations Team. We are adding a Production Supervisor for our afternoon shift. This role will be based on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Woodbridge, Ontario.

What would you do as our Production Supervisor - Afternoon Shift?

You will be responsible for ensuring the operations and production, including leading a team, ensuring the quality of product, achieving production goals, and ensuring on-time delivery, labor, and safety.

You would also:

1. Plan and assign daily tasks to area employees to achieve the daily schedule and departmental goals, while maximizing production efficiency.
2. Ensure customer orders are completed correctly, efficiently, and on time.
3. Train, motivate, monitor, and evaluate performance of staff, ensuring their ability to safely perform their functions.
4. Foster a safety culture and the implementation of safety policies and training to eliminate work-related injuries.
5. Create and report prescribed metrics (daily, weekly, and monthly).
6. Identify and proactively raise productivity issues and trends; recommend alternatives for improved performance.
7. Actively participate in process improvement projects to achieve cost savings in labor and materials.
8. Promote positive employee relations, communication, and teamwork across all shifts and levels.
9. Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, health and safety, and inventory management.
10. Perform other duties as required.
11. Continually promote a safe and harmonious working environment, demonstrating strict adherence to the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct and ASSA ABLOY Health & Safety Policy.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

1. Post-secondary Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
2. 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing supervision or management level role with a demonstrated ability to lead people within a manufacturing environment.
3. Demonstrated experience implementing lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement initiatives.
4. Experience in a unionized environment, preferably within metal forming, building materials, doors, and/or door components would be a huge benefit.
5. Experience with work planning and production scheduling.
6. Exceptional leadership presence and decision-making skills to motivate, influence, and train people.
7. Previous working knowledge of CNC equipment and programming.
8. Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to interact well with customers.
9. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
10. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth industry; willing to be hands-on and take initiative.
11. Proficient in MS Office suite, ERP software, and reporting tools.
