Position: Production Supervisor – 1 year contract

Location: Markham, ON

Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per year

Industry: Automotive Manufacturing

Employment Term: 1-year contract (possibility of extension)

Shift: NIGHT SHIFT

Responsibilities

1. Managing a unionized hourly workforce, including production operators and skilled trades.
2. Driving performance to meet production, cost, and quality goals.
3. Enforcing standardized work procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency.
4. Providing guidance, coaching, and motivation to employees for growth and development.
5. Empowering teams to work autonomously and cultivate strong leadership skills.
6. Resolving product quality issues, equipment failures, machinery transitions, and workforce concerns to enhance operational efficiency.
7. Collaborating with Engineering, Maintenance, Material Planning, and Logistics to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Training production staff in lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving techniques.
9. Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, legislative requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications

1. Post-secondary degree or diploma
2. At least 3 years of relevant experience in production supervision.
3. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting.
4. Ability to work a STRAIGHT NIGHT SHIFT (training will be on days initially)
5. Previous experience within an automotive manufacturing setting is required; electronics manufacturing experience is an advantage.
6. Strong communication skills for clear and effective information sharing.
