Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural millwork or related manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficient workflows and production schedules.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate production staff to maintain a collaborative, high-performance environment.
• Monitor processes for quality, safety, and adherence to procedures and regulations.
• Inspect finished products, identify quality issues, and implement corrective actions.

Position Summary

This role oversees production schedules, supervises shop floor personnel, and drives continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring efficient use of materials and resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficient workflows and adherence to production schedules.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate production staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and operating procedures.
• Conduct inspections of finished products, identify quality issues, and implement corrective actions when required.
• Maintain accurate production records, including inventory, quality metrics, and team performance.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and other departments to maintain production standards and resolve operational challenges.
• Train and onboard new employees in production processes, quality expectations, and workplace safety.

• Lead and participate in departmental meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions.
• Participate in leadership development and continuous learning programs.

Health & Safety

• Promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production floor.
• Train employees on workplace safety practices and safe equipment operation.
• Support incident reporting, workplace investigations, and return-to-work programs when required.
• Participate in workplace health and safety initiatives and committee activities.

Qualifications

Education

Post-secondary education is required.

Diploma or certification in Carpentry or a related trade is preferred.

Health and safety training such as WHMIS, Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness Training (HSAT), or equivalent is considered an asset.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural millwork or a related manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.

Previous Leadership Experience With Direct Personnel Management Is Preferred.

• Experience operating or supervising CNC machinery is an asset.
• Background in construction, carpentry, trim work, finishing, painting, or manufacturing is beneficial.
