Job summary

Socket.dev in Edmonton, Canada, is seeking a seasoned production leader to oversee a vinyl windows and doors facility. You will direct production, shipping, quality, maintenance, and continuous improvement while ensuring on-time delivery and defect-free shipments.

You will plan schedules, manage labour and materials, coach a high-performing team, monitor KPIs, control costs, and drive safety, waste reduction, and process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 3 years supervising production teams.
  • Experience in windows, doors, building products, construction, or manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and production KPIs.
  • Hands-on leadership style with ERP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a production facility manufacturing custom vinyl windows and doors, overseeing production, shipping, quality, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan and schedule production to meet customer deadlines and company targets.
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop a high-performing production team.
  • Manage labour, materials, inventory, and production costs.
  • Monitor production KPIs, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Identify problems and implement practical solutions.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and drive defect-free shipments.
  • Oversee equipment, maintenance, plant organization, and production efficiency.
  • Work closely with purchasing, sales, warehouse, and suppliers to keep production moving.
  • Manage staffing, hiring, onboarding, and employee development.
  • Reduce waste, downtime, and inefficiencies through continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized workplace and compliance with WCB and company safety requirements.
  • Help develop new products and improve production processes.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

  • This role is for you if you are dependable, accountable, safety-focused, and committed to developing people while achieving results.

  • Experience in windows, doors, building products, construction, or manufacturing is highly preferred

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Solid understanding of production scheduling, quality control, inventory, and shipping

  • Proven ability to manage labour costs, budgets, and production KPIs

  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to make decisions and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work directly with production teams

  • Experience with ERP, production management, or inventory systems is an asset

  • Accountable for safety, on-time delivery, quality performance, productivity, labor efficiency, and profitability of theproductionoperation.
