Job description

Your Role

As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing day-to-day operations for the packing, warehouse, and loading departments, ensuring that direct reports follow policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety. To succeed, you must be able to:

Your Responsibilities
  • Oversee and execute day-to-day operations for the department, ensuring policies and procedures related to safety are followed
  • Partner with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory experts to ensure compliance with safety policies
  • Monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to meet customer and food safety requirements, and recommend improvements
  • Lead process improvement initiatives such as Centerlining, Preventative Maintenance, 5S, and ELEMEDS
  • Collaborate with plant management to meet efficiency standards and track performance metrics
  • Develop workforce planning strategies and participate in employee selection
  • Manage inventory counts, correct discrepancies, and investigate variances
  • Engage, recognize, develop, and coach hourly team members
Essential Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or High school diploma/GED with 4 years of production experience
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience in an industrial environment
  • Understanding of safety hazards and protocols
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems
Good To Have
  • Knowledge of packaging equipment and conveying systems
  • Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Reliability centered maintenance training
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks at a computer
  • Wearing PPE as required
  • Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Work in hot/cold, indoor/outdoor, dusty, noisy, elevated, and confined environments
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working at heights
Other Considerations
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and communicate effectively in English
  • Willingness to work long hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and background check
