Job description

Under the responsibility of the Superintendent in your area, you will primarily be responsible for supervising a production team working in a heavy industrial metallurgical environment and a unionized setting, in order to meet business objectives. To achieve this, you will need to ensure the optimal efficiency of the process operation, as well as the quality of the products. You will also be expected to support and promote the implementation of the best reliability techniques in the plant to make optimal use of resources.

While ensuring and prioritizing the safety of your staff, you will have the ability and responsibility to promote a work environment conducive to achieving goals in health and safety, efficiency, quality control, and customer satisfaction. As the production supervisor, you will encourage the development and engagement of your team to help them reach their full potential and ensure the application of current policies and procedures. Finally, depending on your responsibilities, you will manage the collective agreement.

You will be required to work in rotating shifts of 8 or 12 hours.

Required Qualifications :

You are the ideal candidate if you meet the following profile :

• Hold a college diploma (DEC) in metallurgy or an equivalent qualification, or another relevant training (relevant experience in team management or in heavy or metallurgical industries may be considered);
• Have received training in personnel management or leadership;
• Have experience in managing production teams;
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and prioritize communication and teamwork;
• Exhibit autonomy, good work organization, and priority management;
• Place a high priority on your health and safety, as well as that of your coworkers.
