Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of production staff during the assigned shift.
  • Direct shop personnel to optimize productivity and maintain workflow.
  • Monitor and record the reliability and performance of machines on an hourly basis.
  • Reassign operators as needed in response to machine breakdowns.
  • Perform inventory checks and coordinate with the Manager for stock accuracy.
  • Review Preventive Maintenance (PM) reports and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Order spare parts and ensure critical spare inventory levels are maintained.
  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings and monthly plant meetings with staff.
  • Enforce and uphold company safety policies and ensure safe operation of equipment.
  • Report and resolve production issues in coordination with the Operations Manager.
  • Train new team members and assist in ongoing employee development.
  • Support in implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or similar leadership role in manufacturing.
  • Unionized environment experience is considered an asset.
  • A background in CNC or metal manufacturing is must
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and direct a team.
  • Good working knowledge of electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Competent with computers and production management software.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with rebar manufacturing equipment is a strong asset.
