Job summary

LGG Industrial in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a Production Specialist / Warehouse Labourer to support manufacturing and distribution tasks, including assembling, picking, shipping/receiving, and occasional product delivery.

This on-site role requires safety compliance, basic math and mechanical skills, forklift familiarity, and the ability to work overtime, nights, or weekends as needed; a high school diploma or GED is required.

Job description

Title: Production Specialist / Warehouse Labourer

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Role

This position is responsible for a variety of tasks that are manufacturing or distribution based and may include assembling and manufacturing sales orders, picking products from the warehouse, shipping and receiving, and where required, delivery of products to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Must maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures
  • Assembles products to company, customer and manufacturer’s standards
  • Performs all product testing to quality standards as required by the customer and per company work instruction
  • Receives incoming shipments into inventory, posts in online system and places items in warehouse
  • Picks product in warehouse and prepares items for delivery or shipping
  • Delivers product as required
  • Operates mechanical equipment, hand tools, forklifts and picking lifts (if applicable)
  • Assists with physical inventory
  • Makes recommendations to management with respect to product and process improvements
  • Perform other duties as trained and qualified for

Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to safely drive a Company truck or other mechanical equipment
  • 3 - 5 years of related warehousing or production experience
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation is a must
  • Ability to work overtime, as required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required
  • Background checks and drug screening may be required (by Company, Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • This position is based in a production and warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to a range of environmental conditions. These include fluctuating temperatures (both hot and cold), varying noise levels, exposure to dust, and other typical elements of an active industrial environment.

  • Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs independently on a repeated basis. Heavier items may be moved with team assistance or mechanical aid.
  • Ability to move freely throughout the job site, including on occasional uneven surfaces, for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work at varying work-surface levels and machine operation heights.
  • Ability to move above or below workstations or retrieve items from various heights.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders or stairs, as required.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and safety procedures.
  • Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, inventory sheets, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to count, measure, and record data accurately.
  • Ability to respond to safety signals, alarms, and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to inspect products and materials to detect imperfections, defects, or irregularities and ensure quality and compliance.
  • Ability to properly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery (training and certification may be required).
  • Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle and other mechanical equipment multiple times per day.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats, depending on task or site conditions.
