Job summary

Wonderbrands is seeking a Production Shift Leader to manage nightly production teams and ensure alignment with GMP, safety, and quality standards at our Etobicoke facility. You will oversee line leadership, coordinate schedules, and drive on-time production while fostering a collaborative culture.

The role requires 3–4 years in manufacturing, strong leadership, and solid communication skills. A focus on safety, process improvement, and ERP accuracy will be essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leader who can motivate a team to meet schedules.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical abilities; able to resolve conflicts and foster collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP and OHSA.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Lead production line leaders and team members on a shift.
  • Ensure production schedules are met and coordinate department schedules.
  • Troubleshoot production equipment and ERP inaccuracies.
  • Maintain safe working environment and enforce company standards.
  • Prepare shift reports and KPI tracking.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, sanitation, shipping, quality, and engineering.

Position: Production Shift Leader

Shift: 12 hours (Nights)

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Understands and fulfills the duties of a leaderofthe following programs within the production area: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Allfood safety programs, Allhealth & safetyprograms, AllWonderbrands policies, programs or procedures.
  • Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and teamwork among Team Members.
  • Assists with trouble shooting on all production related equipment (musthave basic understanding ofall equipment)
  • Responsible for leading all production Line Leaders and Team Members on a shift.
  • Responsible to prioritize activities of the supporting teams when required (maintenance, sanitation, shipping, qualityand engineering).
  • Ensures production schedules are met.
  • Follow-ups and deals with any problems that may occur.
  • Co-ordinates the various department schedules, products and manpower to ensure that the production in the plant runs smoothly.
  • Checks to ensure that proper methods and procedures are being used and that quality, safety, environment standards are met.
  • Provides assistancein scheduling, resolving production and manpower problems.
  • Provides orientation and training as required to ensure an effective and efficient work force.
  • Ensures a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing Company Standards and regular inspections.
  • Assists in all testing of new equipment, methods and or products, as well as trouble shoots processes and equipment.
  • Utilizes ERP system and production support systems to meet production targets andfollowsQuality Control procedures at all times.
  • Completes daily reports on KPI’s as required.
  • Works with Sanitation, Quality, Shipping and Maintenance teams to coordinate required activities.
  • Ensures Product Quality and Food Safety procedures are being followed.
  • Follows up with Line Leaders to ensure output targets are being met.
  • Responsible for the management and updating of Skills Matrix for their respective shift.
  • Ensuresan updated Job / Break rotation schedule is created and available to the leadership team.
  • Provides support to the leadership team in dealing with performance / behavioral concerns with Team Members on the shift.
  • Provides performance feedbackProcessfor Team Members on the shift.
  • Updates and provides important production related information to Line Leaders
  • Responsible for scheduling correct amount of Team Members
  • CreatesWeekly Schedule Spreadsheet for shift when required.
  • Clearsexceptions in Time & Attendance when required.
  • Ensuresall Team Members are assigned to correct line.
  • Tracks and communicates to Leadership any Late or Absences of Team members.
  • Monitor all shipping activity to ensure fill rates are met.
  • Works with Shipping Team Members to address any concerns
  • Manages transportation requirements to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
  • Answers calls on radio(cellphones, if applicable)from various departments.
  • Ensure that Production Orders are closed immediately after completion.
  • Monitors inventory activity (finished goodsor materials).
  • Supports Line Leaders in updating Shift Reports when required.
  • Troubleshoots any ERP inaccuracies.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Minimum 3-4 years’experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a demonstrated leader who interacts with others and is adept at leading/motivating a team to meet schedule demands.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with strong mathematical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage conflict resolution, team engagement, collaboration).
  • Flexible to support other shifts when business needs require additional Leadership.
  • Working knowledge of GMP's, HACCP & O.H.S.A will be required.
  • Basiccomputer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
