Job summary

Wonderbrands is seeking a Production Scheduler in Kitchener, ON, to optimize bakery production per central planning guidelines while adapting to disruptions. You will release orders, track KPIs, and support cross-functional planning, with a focus on maintaining high FG inventory accuracy and reliable scheduling.

Reporting to the Bakery Leader, you will coordinate with materials and production teams, manage scheduling data, and act as a backup for Material Planning as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Materials Management, Industrial engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong communicator and team builder.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced & multitask environment.
  • Possess strong understanding of Production Scheduling.
  • Ability to learn fast, ambitious, and come up with new innovative ideas.
  • Natural curiosity and desire to learn and grow.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and sense of urgency.
  • Flexible to work different work schedules when needed.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • SAP experience is considered an asset.
  • Programming skills are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule production at the bakery based on guidelines from the central planning team and optimize production runs.
  • Adjust schedules in response to unplanned events such as machine breakdowns, labor shortages, raw material delays, or increased demand.
  • Escalate issues to Central planning team when necessary.
  • Accountable for maintaining scheduling files up to date with changes.
  • Responsible for releasing process orders for production.
  • Help Supply planning team to have visibility on PPW generated from the bakery.
  • Track and report scheduling KPIs like service fill rate and on-time completions.
  • Ensure finished goods cycle counts bi-weekly and address FG discrepancies.
  • Improve inventory accuracy at the bakery to 98%+ (FG, SFG).
  • Ensure reporting system data is up-to-date and escalate issues as needed.
  • Act as backup for Material Planner as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Summary

Our team is looking for a new Production Scheduler! Reporting to the Bakery Leader, this position focuses on scheduling and optimizing bakery production based on central planning guidelines while adapting to disruptions like equipment issues, labor shortages, or material delays. It involves maintaining accurate scheduling data, releasing production orders, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring high inventory accuracy for finished goods. The position also supports cross-functional coordination, issue escalation, and serves as backup for material planning when needed.

Location: Kitchener, ON.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule production at the bakery based on guideline from the central planning team and optimize production runs
  • Adjust schedules in response to unplanned events such as machine breakdowns, labor shortages, raw material delays, or increase demand
  • Escalation of issues, when necessary, e.g., materials discrepancies higher than the tolerance, process discrepancies within the bakery, production shortages etc. to Central planning team
  • Accountable for ensuring scheduling files are maintained and up to date with new changes
  • Responsible for releasing process orders for production
  • Help Supply planning team to have visibility on PPW generated out of the bakery
  • Track and report key scheduling KPIs such as service fill rate, on-time completions
  • Ensuring Cycle counts of Finished Goods completed bi-weekly and responsible for addressing Finished goods discrepancies
  • Improve inventory accuracy at the bakery to 98%+ (FG, SFG)
  • Ensuring that the bakery production team maintains up-to-date and accurate information on the reporting system and escalating the issue when necessary
  • Act as backup for Material Planner as required
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:
