Elmira Machine Industries is seeking a Pump Assembler to join our Elmira, Ontario team. You will assemble, test, paint and refurbish cast iron vacuum pumps, following precise work instructions and quality standards.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will work day shift with a 44-hour week, Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, in a high‑standard manufacturing environment offering training, benefits and RRSP matching.

Qualifications

• Mechanical assembly experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble cast iron vacuum pumps according to specifications and work instructions.
• Test completed pumps to ensure proper performance and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and correct assembly-related issues.
• Paint vacuum pumps using a pressure pot paint system.
• Rebuild and refurbish customer-owned pumps.
• Perform visual inspections and quality checks of completed work.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Work collaboratively with Machine Operators and other production team members.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Job Description

Elmira Machine Industries is seeking a Pump Assembler to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, testing, painting, and refurbishing cast iron vacuum pumps while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assemble cast iron vacuum pumps according to specifications and work instructions
• Test completed pumps to ensure proper performance and quality standards are met
• Troubleshoot and correct assembly-related issues
• Paint vacuum pumps using a pressure pot paint system
