Job summary

Agilent Technologies Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Materials Planner to analyze production schedules and forecast material needs. You will build BOMs in our ERP system, coordinate with procurement and warehouse, and ensure on-time manufacturing by monitoring inventory and supplier lead times.

The role requires 1+ year in manufacturing planning, strong data analysis skills, and proficiency with SAP/ERP and MS Office. Occasional travel and a competitive CAD pay range accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, science, supply chain or related field.
• CPIM or CSCP certification is a strong asset.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably with planning or project-management responsibilities.
• Proficiency with SAP/ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply-chain management.

Responsibilities

• Optimize inventory levels balancing cost and service while adhering to schedules.
• Identify shortages based on updated lead times from procurement.
• Track and report actual consumption vs planned consumption.
• Identify and recommend solutions to resolve material constraints.
• Create jobs in ERP and coordinate with warehouse for staging.
• Monitor production pace via shift reports for exceptions in material usage.
• Perform analysis to maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with QMS, including new materials and change-management processes.
• Help achieve assigned KPIs and work collaboratively across teams.
• Adhere to health and safety policies; perform duties as assigned.

• Analyzing production schedules, forecasting and planning material needs, and managing inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Building and maintaining detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for production processes within the ERP system.
• Chairing weekly supply‑chain meetings to align production schedules with sales, manufacturing, procurement, project management, and QC departments.
• Confirming and verifying manufacturing schedules to plan material requirements.
• Publishing forecasts for procurement to plan orders and coordinate required deliveries.
• Creating and submitting requisitions to the procurement department for required materials.
• Monitoring the process from order initiation to release, ensuring timely material availability to support on‑schedule manufacturing.
• Optimizing inventory levels to balance cost efficiency with service requirements while ensuring strict adherence to on‑time manufacturing schedules.
• Identifying material shortages based on updated lead times from procurement.
• Tracking and reporting actual consumption vs planned consumption.
• Identifying and recommending solutions to resolve material constraints.
• Creating jobs in the ERP system and coordinating with the warehouse team for staging to align with the manufacturing schedule.
• Continuously monitoring the pace of production through shift reports for any exceptions in raw material usage and inventory levels to ensure ongoing stock availability.
• Performing analysis to recommend maintaining optimal inventory levels of raw material and consumables.
• Ensuring compliance with QMS requirements, including new materials and change‑management processes.
• Ensuring timely achievement of assigned KPIs.
• Working effectively and cooperatively in a multi‑functional team environment with all departments and levels of leadership.
• Adhering to the company’s health and safety policy as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety documents.
• Performing additional duties as assigned based on business needs at the supervisor’s request.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, science, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
• Other technical diploma supplemented with technical training or equivalent work experience may be considered.
• CPIM or CSCP certification is a strong asset.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably with planning or project‑management responsibilities.
• Proficiency with computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP/ERP systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply‑chain management.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and expertise in mathematics, data analysis, and analytical thinking.
• Exceptional follow‑up and planning skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize workloads.
• Proficient communicator, both written and oral.

Benefits & Pay

Full‑time, weekly schedule. The full‑time equivalent pay range for this position is $20.37 – $35.65 per hour CAD. Eligible for bonus, stock, and benefits. Pay and benefit information by country is available at: https://careers.agilent.com/locations.
