Job summary

Napoleon is seeking a Production Planner for a 12-month contract at 24 Napoleon Road, Barrie (hybrid). Reporting to the Production Control Manager, the planner ensures manufacturing work is properly distributed and resolves part planning issues.

Key duties include releasing work orders, monitoring capacity, coordinating with Sales and Operations teams, and maintaining ERP data. Eligible candidates have 2+ years in production planning and CPIM is a plus, with strong MS Office and ERP/MRP

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a production planning role.
  • CPIM designation or actively pursuing is an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of ERP/MRP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Firm and release work orders, performing material availability checks.
  • Review early/late reports to ensure all open work orders are accurate and current.
  • Monitor capacity requirements.
  • Communicate daily with Sales, Production Planners, Senior Planners, Team Leaders, Supervisors, Manufacturing Managers and Purchasing regarding parts issues and priorities.
  • Request overtime, part production transfers to other facilities or outsourcing as needed to manage bottlenecks.
  • Maintain planning information in ERP system.
  • Maintain resource calendars in ERP system.
  • Coordinate down time recovery plans.
  • Monitor production part inventories and make adjustments accordingly. Perform root cause analysis accordingly and finding solutions for reoccurring parts opportunities

Title: Production Planner - 12-month contract

Location: 24 Napoleon Road, Barrie (hybrid)

Education And Experience
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Production Planning role
  • CPIM – Certified in Production and Inventory Management designation or working towards is considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
  • MRP – Material Requirements Planning and ERP (preference for Microsoft Dynamics 365) systems knowledge
