Job description

PRODUCTION OPERATOR (SPECIALTY)

CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer, and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing materials, and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations worldwide, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products, and people to build walls, ceilings, and careers.

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operator (Brake Press / CNC Operator) for our ceilings plant in Oakville, Ontario.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills in a manufacturing environment within a large corporation.

Under the guidance of the Specialty Foreman, the Production Operator manages daily operations in the Specialty Department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Packaging Specialty products, operating CNC/Brake Presses, maintaining housekeeping, and other duties as needed.
  • Operating equipment efficiently to produce high-quality Specialty products.
  • Prioritizing safety and cleanliness in all activities.
  • Adhering to safety rules, programs, and procedures related to Specialty Production.
  • Working collaboratively in a team, maintaining attendance, and promoting safety among team members.
  • Supporting and enforcing safety practices among crew members.
  • Fostering positive employee morale and cooperative relationships within and across departments.
  • Assisting with the implementation of USG/CGC Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs, and SOPs.
  • Performing special projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • College diploma in sheet metal fabrication is an asset.
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Brake Presses and CNC machines is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and team orientation.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to changing business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Focus on safety and quality in all work aspects.

Additional details:

  • Pay: $29.22/hr
  • Shift: Monday - Friday, 7 am-3 pm & 3 pm-11 pm on a rotating schedule
