YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Operator is part of the production team responsible for the safe operation of the Production Area Equipment. KSPC is looking for individuals interested in immediate positions and future opportunities.
The successful candidate will:
- Monitor standard operating conditions such as alarms, set-points, and parameters, adjusting to ensure stable operation.
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
- Troubleshoot and analyze process upset conditions to optimize production.
- Log operational information and enter maintenance notifications into SAP for repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment.
- Coordinate with Process Operators and Shift Supervisors for safe start-up and shutdown of equipment.
- Communicate with other process areas to maintain stability and report issues.
- Conduct routine equipment checks.
- Isolate and Lock Out equipment for maintenance and ensure safe return to service.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and limit maintenance tasks as needed.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and safety protocols.
- Sample areas and send samples to labs to verify process parameters and product quality.
- Prioritize safety for oneself and colleagues, reporting incidents and striving for continuous safety improvements.
Process Areas
- Dry Process / Loadout: Includes bulk solids equipment, conveyors, crushers, treatment systems, warehouses, and rail yard assets.
- Wet Process (Wet End): Includes crystallizers, pumps, centrifuges, leaching systems, dryers, heat exchangers, and reclaim systems.
- Wellfield: Includes flow management, pumps, tanks, wellhead and downhole equipment, working alongside service rigs and wireline trucks.
YOUR PROFILE
We value diversity and encourage candidates with relevant education and experience. The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a process facility.
- Potash or solution mining experience is an asset.
- Ability to understand technical instructions and reports.
- Flexibility and adaptability in uncertain situations.
- Risk mitigation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Saskatchewan Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Experience with MS Office, SAP, or other CMMS.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented.
- Legal right to work in Canada.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
This role involves rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties. Physical requirements include climbing stairs and working in various weather conditions.
