Job description

This position is an essential part of Sherwin’s manufacturing team. It involves following detailed processing instructions to pre-batch and blend raw materials, creating industrial or architectural colorants. The role includes various manufacturing tasks and responsibilities for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.

Additional Information

Rotating Day and Afternoon Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm and 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Afternoon shift premium offered.

This position is eligible for performance-based bonuses, subject to company plans.

Due to the nature of the work involving contact with employees, operation of heavy machinery, and access to proprietary and valuable items, a review of criminal history is required to ensure safety and protect company operations and reputation.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work in the country of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in manufacturing or distribution facilities
  • Experience monitoring gauges, dials, or machinery indicators
  • Experience operating manufacturing machinery
  • Experience monitoring raw materials and finished goods quality
  • Experience using material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Experience in mixing or blending raw materials in an industrial batch process
Responsibilities
  • Selecting, measuring, and staging raw materials
  • Following batch slip instructions for mixing and blending
  • Making lab adjustments and maintaining raw material samples
  • Operating control systems and manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Monitoring raw materials and finished goods quality
  • Adhering to policies and SOPs
  • Keeping equipment logs, performing minor repairs, and reporting breakdowns
  • Maintaining production records and reports
  • Collaborating with departments to meet production deadlines
  • Monitoring and replenishing inventory of parts and supplies
  • Providing technical support and training
  • Suggesting improvements to manufacturing procedures
  • Keeping tools and work environment organized and clean daily
