Title:Production Operator

Reports to:Feed Mill Supervisor and Feed Mill Manager

Summary Description: Operate equipment to manufacture finished feed including batching, pelleting, and grinding.

Essential Job Functions / Duties:

  1. Perform all duties in a safe manner consistent with companyPolicy & Proceduresand safety training.
  2. Wear all requiredPersonal Protective Equipment.
  3. Monitor inventories of ingredients and finished feeds (as required).
  4. Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas consistent withGood Manufacturing Practices.
  5. Perform general labor duties as assigned or needed by management.
  6. Collect all required samples as defined inQuality Control Guidelines andStandard Operating Procedures.
  7. Perform all required testing as set forth in theStandard Operating Procedures.
  8. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
  9. Monitor batching, pelleting, fat application, grinding, and routing processes.
  10. Input information into computer automation system accurately.
  11. Operate equipment, automatically or manually, via computer automation consistent with procedures.
  12. Perform all job functions consistent withGood Manufacturing Practices, StandardOperating Procedures, HACCP, and Quality Control Guidelines.

Secondary Functions / Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management. Must attend scheduled safety meetings and other training meetings.

Supervision:No supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications / Experience / License

  1. Must be task oriented and a self-starter with ability to follow detailed instructions.
  2. Must have ability to handle paperwork with accuracy.
  3. Ability to operate a forklift, and tractor.

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Good reading, writing, math and communication skills required.

Physical / Mental Requirements:

  1. Must be able to swing sledgehammer and carry 55-pound ingredient bags.
  2. Ability to work at heights and climb ladders
  3. Ability to work in confined spaces
  4. Ability to work in any weather environment.
